The Grissom High School JROTC Corps of Cadets will host the Grissom JROTC Warrior 5K Run on March 3, 2018. For nine years, Grissom JROTC cadets have hosted a 5K race to support wounded service members. With the help of our sponsors, we have donated over $46,000 in support for this effort. That is a tremendous accomplishment and speaks to the cooperation and patriotism that characterizes our communities. We would be honored by your sponsorship of this great event!
This year, our race will raise funds to support Still Serving Veterans. The mission of Still Serving Veterans is to serve and honor Veterans and their families, transition service members by assisting them in securing meaningful employment and the Veterans benefits they have earned. All services they provide are at no cost to the veterans.
The Warrior 5K Run will continue the long-standing traditions set by previous Grissom JROTC 5K runs, with all the patriotism and pageantry that characterized those races. There will be static displays, vintage cars, lots of flags, and formation runners. We expect to see over 500 racers this year, with multiple teams participating in the ROTC/JROTC and Corporate/Community Divisions.
We hope you will take a moment to review the great impact that Still Serving Veterans and the Grissom JROTC program have had on our local and military communities. If you are a past sponsor, we would appreciate your continued support. If you have not supported our race previously, please join with us as we honor and assist our local veterans. The proceeds from this race are shared with Still Serving Veterans and the Grissom JROTC program.
If you have any questions on how you can support or get involved with the Grissom JROTC 5K Run, please contact our race director, Lindy Stuart, at 256-457-5067 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
