The Grissom Army JROTC program is one of the largest in the Tennessee Valley, with over 200 Cadets enrolled, with plans to grow even more. With growth, comes more opportunities for us to reach students that can benefit from what our program has to offer.

Cadets planned, coordinated and executed our annual Warrior 5K run, which was designed to raise money for local veteran organizations and provide Cadets the opportunity to volunteer and give back to their community.

We are the only program in the area that has a nationally ranked Raider Team.  Just a few short years ago, we were first in the Nation, finished second in 2015, and tied for second in 2016. We consistently finish 1st, 2nd, or 3rd each year at Raider Nationals, where 20+ States, representing over 80 teams, come to compete. The most significant individual accomplishment was by Senior Emily Myers, who competed in, and won, the Ultimate Raider competition which tests the Cadets’ stamina, endurance, and mental & physical toughness over a two mile course while negotiating multiple obstacles, all while caring a 35 pound pack. This made her the top female in the nation. We are the number one raider team in the state of Alabama and the current and reigning Tennessee state champions.

We also have a nationally recognized CyberPatriot Team. Our 2016-2017 team finished first in the region and the only Army JROTC program in the state that qualified to attend the National Competition in Baltimore, Maryland. For the last two years, we’ve been the top Army JROTC CyberPatriot Team in the state of Alabama.
